Royal Ballet Gala 2010

Ballet Etudes Company is rounding off its 2009-2010 season with excerpts from three great ballet classics! The program will feature the Balcony Scene from Romeo and Juliet, Don Quixote Grand Suite, Esmeralda Pas de Deux, and Act III from The Sleeping Beauty.

Don Quixote Grand Suite will be a shortened version of the original three-act ballet staged by Director Susana Prieto and Choreographer Peter La Fox. World-renowned Cuban ballerina and Ballet Etudes Principal Dancer Dagmar Moradillos will dance the role of Kitri, and Guest Principal Jose Rodriguez, from Ballet Nacional de Puerto Rico, will appear as Basil.

Act III from The Sleeping Beauty depicts the wedding of Aurora to Prince Florimund. This act includes the well-known fairy Pas de Trois as well as the dance of “Puss in Boots and the White Cat” and the Bluebird Pas de Deux and will be staged by Artistic Advisor Rodolfo Rodriguez. Returning guest artists from Brazil Michelle Saramago and Fernando Maciel will appear as Princess Aurora and Prince Florimund as well as Romeo and Juliet. The balcony scene, where the couple declare their eternal love, is the famous centerpiece of Romeo and Juliet.

Additionally, Guest Principals Jose Rodriguez and Tais Diana dance together again in the vibrant Pas de Deux from La Esmeralda.

There will only be two performances of this fantastic program: Saturday, April 17th at 8pm and Sunday, April 18th at 3pm. Ticket prices are $25 or $35. Limited vision seats are also available for $20. Discounts include 10% off for groups of 11 or more and “lap” seats for children ages 2 and under.

The Company will be holding a special “Meet and Greet” with the cast after each performance in the lobby of the theater. This event is open to all ticket purchasers.
